I don't believe anyone mentioned obscenities, as to being told off - Maezumi Roshi, Genpo Roshi, Soko Morinaga Roshi, Jiyu Kennet Roshi, Genno Pages Sensei, Tenkei Coppens Sensei, Daishin Morgan Roshi... In fact let's just say every teacher I've ever come across (or we'll be here far too long and it's belabouring the point), will tell someone off if it's called for, even when it does require the odd obscenity.
