Al, I still think you have heard the point and haven't acknowledged it
-- or are just missing it:

What is being taught and learned is more immmediate than insults or
sugar-coating. Both are human nature. I prefer a teacher who gives me
a foot rub while doling out wisdom -- but beggars can't be choosers.

I've learned some thing in life over the last year, and it's hard (and
pointless) to figure out how much to attribute to this forum, and how
much to attribute other places. I know that a few things which recur to
my mind came from phrases or stories Fudo mentioned -- I don't know if
they were the signs pointing the way, or the "Now entering Ripened-Town
-- Population Still 1". But I owe you for either, and also the other
forum members who make this an active place...

I'll never know how I ripened exactly, and don't need to figure it out.
It won't help the ripening. I have made no intnetional generalization
about Fudo's, forums, Zen monks. I'm busy looking forward to my next
action. Who was mean in my life and who was nice, are details to be
sorted out by 'god and little children'.

I understand the phrase, "life's too short to put up with that asshole".
I use it when I'm explaining why I don't want to be around so and so.
If that's how you feel -- we respect that, you're the moderator. But I
hope you don't make the mistake of thinking "life's too short to be
around assholes". I'll spend an afternoon with you, and Fudo over Jusan
and Duck-lady any ol' day... Besides, while swearing-off assholes, you
might have to avoid a few others, including me, and you, whether we like
it or not.
