From: "David McEwen" <Right in the middle of the movie, the master next to
you taps you on the shoulder. It brings you out of your identification with
the movie and you look at the master and he looks at you. Then he points up
to the movie projector, traces the beam down to the screen with his finger
and points at the screen with all the actors and action taking place. >>

If anyone did that to me at a movie theater, I would move to another seat
after complaining to the Usher. It seems very dualistic to be sitting in a
theater like some kind of autistic nut pointing up at the movie projector.

The only people that I have ever seen do that are retarded folks. Have you
ever been in a theater when Mentally Disabled people are brought in as part
of a Field Trip? They are looking all over the theater, pointing at the
lights, looking at the projector, not capable of becoming engrossed with the
flow of the story in the movie.

I usually go during the early bird hours, so I have seen that a couple of
times. I remember one time I was sitting there and spent most of the movie
watching the retarded folks. They were more entertaining than the movie. One
retarded guy spent the entire movie sitting on his knees, backwards in his
chair, with his back to the movie screen. He was watching the movie
projector. He really seemed to be getting something out of looking at the
movie projector. He must have been the Zen Master.
