I'm wondering, why would openmange be necessary? In fact I tried OpenManage with IT assistant but it's not really good with products other than Dell. I tried IpSentry which is the one I prefer by now but it's windows only. I also tried IpMonitor8 which is good but.. I don't REALLY like it for the price. I had trouble with OpManager so I discard it.
That's why I'm looking to Zenoss now. But I never installed Openmange with any of these solutions, except Dell IT assistant. I used to identify the good OID and specify if the result is over 3 then send me an alert via email (Power supply example).
