1. Zenoss doesn't use MIBs for anything but traps. Traps originate from the 
monitored system and are send in the event of an event occurring on the system 
that sends the trap. Typical events for a trap to be send would be: RAID 
failure, change of configuration, etc.

2. Dell OpenManage is only needed if one intends to get hardware level 
information. Such information would be fan speeds, RAID status, power supply 
status, etc. This type of information is always provided by a prop. agent 
(Dells is called OpenManage, HP/Compaq is called InsightManager). 
For anything else such as CPU, Memory and HDD there is no need for a hardware 
specific agent. Microsoft's Agent or SNMP Informant (better) will do much 
better here.

3. To find out about how to add a new OID for Zenoss to monitor I suggest one 
takes a look at existing templates and simply imitates them. Also don't forget 
to finally bind a template to a device/class. There is more information in the 
Zenoss Admin Guide.
