No there is no pattern. It just randomly stops collecting, even though the services remain active. The only way for me to get it to collect again is by rebooting the entire machine. Restarts via the gui or command line fail to make it work. It has never worked for more than a few days.
As it is I have lost faith in it and I am looking for something else as it has not been reliable since I put it in September.
