Your modeling problem may be due to a corrupted zenoss cache. Trying removing all of the .zec files in <zenhome>/var. Can you provide the output from a debug model? zenmodeler -v10 -d <device> Also, when it hangs, can you do an strace on the process? I'm wondering where it is hanging. An lsof -p <pid> would help as well. I'm wondering if it is holding open all of the udp sockets...doubtful but just wondering. Last, check your ulimits to make sure enough has been set.
