Hahaha...that actually worked but why? As I stated, I previously ran
a loop, snmpgetbulk and manually put in this OID and the unit
returned it just fine for around 200 iterations a few times but then
I was using v2c there too.
Is this some sort of known issue with the Canon MFP units and the
modeller? Please shed some light.
Also worthy of note, right after remodelling, the agent died but I
rebooted the copier and it came back up and it's working so far.
It worked because the getbulk method didn't even exist in SNMPv1. This
slows modeling down, but at least it works. I didn't previously know
about any error like this on Canon MFP units, but generally speaking
if the agent stops responding if you send it ANY packet it is a
problem with the agent. Zenoss uses the standard Net-SNMP libraries
for making these SNMP calls.
