Hello,

I just started working at a company that's been using Zenoss for years.  Since 
I'll be using Zenoss for my network monitoring solution I've been digging 
through the admin guide, forums, FAQs, and How Tos to get a feel for how Zenoss 
works.  I've gone to co-workers and have gotten a view from 10,000 feet for 
what the program does and now I want to know how to make it work for me.  
Unfortunately all the documentation seems to be aimed at a new user who is 
installing for the first time.  

I'm looking for something that shows me how to use a Zenoss install that is 
already in place.  Specifically, I want to know how to have Zenoss send email 
messages when Events are triggered, how to keep the Event Console clear, and 
how to look at historical information on Events.

To clarify ... I know how to acknowledge Events, but when I do, it stops 
incrementing them and generates a brand new Event the next time the same device 
triggers that event.  This seems to defeat the purpose of having the 
incremental counter, so I figure I must be doing something wrong.  I figure 
there must be a way for a duplicate Event to un-acknowledge an existing Event.  
Then I'd want a way to clear out the acknowledged events so I can only deal 
with unacknowledged events.  I'm also looking for a method to look at past 
events if I need to see what happened in days past.  And finally, I don't doubt 
that Zenoss can send emails based on conditions I set but I can't find that 
info in the documentation, so I don't know what search terms to look for.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.
