Hi All, I like Eliot too. Wrote this long back after reading Prufock for the first time.
TO ALFRED PRUFROCK How wise to be a self-professed fool Than join the common royalty that rules Raucously over everyday conversations Blithely mouthing platitudes, Believing it wit, and themselves wise. The smart, pitiable fools. Better then, to cogitate so, And in peace look out of the window Than go join this crowd, and so on through Conventional cycles like these too predictable bores. Who have not changed over centuries of prose. The stodgy majority, they remain. You are luckier. For they can never hear The songs as you do, that the mermaids may yet sing to you.
