I haven't tested performance on Solaris. But I bought into the Firewire hype, and put firewire cards into my two Linux servers for access to my external hard drives, and also used it on my Windows desktop and laptop boxes. That's at least three different external enclosure models and three different controllers. None of them seemed to be noticeably faster than USB. So I've stopped buying firewire. -- David Dyer-Bennet, d...@dd-b.net; http://dd-b.net/ Snapshots: http://dd-b.net/dd-b/SnapshotAlbum/data/ Photos: http://dd-b.net/photography/gallery/ Dragaera: http://dragaera.info _______________________________________________ zfs-discuss mailing list zfs-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/zfs-discuss
