They are all 1078 cards though.  James mentioned mega_sas supports
some 1068E cards depending on the firmware?

The 1078 seem to have rather large built-in write caches and thus be
expensive and unnecessary for people who want to do raidz/slog.  For
example a lot of the cardsd are PERC with 4 ports for $500---costs
more than the drives you plug it into.  Are there any cheap cards for
mega_sas?
