The situation is as Stephen explained, but I think it's a good question anyway --
I've never written a "real" book about LDS matters before, so I'm going to ask
some of the people I know at FARMS how one goes about doing this. But my
understanding is that anyone can write a book. You can't go around modifying
scriptures. But it would still be nice to know how the brethren will react to our
book -- if it's negative that's something we need to know before we get too far
