thanks Roché... but that's not the point... and that's not the case... I just reproduce the behavior deleting or moving/copying/ deleting the data file... maybe the problem was a corrupted Data.fs, but why zope keeps writing a useless file?

Because Zope does not *know* that its directory entry has been removed from the directory it was placed in. You misunderstand what "delete" means in this case. It does not mean "remove all traces". It means "remove the entry from the directory", which has no influence at all on processes that still hold a handle to that file.
