No, should still say G3.


Even a NewerTech G3 card with a defective backside cache is seen as a G3, 
although the MaxPowr INIT will crash the machine because that cache isn't 
working.

Such cards can still be used if you do NOT install the MaxPowr software.

Helps to have a 1 MB motherboard cache, but a 256 kB or 512 kB 
motherboard cache is OK, too.

Essentially, this becomes a slow(er) G3.

With the DIP switches in some disallowed position, the CPU speed is often 
misread. With the DIP switches in the correct position, the correct CPU 
speed is read.

But the software still properly detects it as a G3.
