True, but by the time you install the larger brakes, tires, exhaust, clutch
and transmission, limited slip, fancy seats, etc. the weight goes up quite a
lot.

Matt,
The factory exhaust system weights ~100 lbs (46 in the cat-bak muffler). The
spare tire/tools and trunk lining are significant as is the split/folding rear
seat backs. All easy to remove.
The A/C system has significant weight and that H/K amplifier and speakers weigh
a ton.
Front factory sport seats are about 60+lbs each without power.
Sparco/Recaro/etc. are sub-20 lbs each.
You can save another 5-10 lbs of rotating unsprung mass with a wheel/tire
change from stock.
How much 'comfort' are you willing to give up for some weight reduction? The
cash output does not have to be extreme either.
You can easily get that M3 well below 3000 lbs without much discomfort or $$.

That said; the Integra is a very good car.

Cheers,
Chet Dawes

I agree. The Vic Sias SCCA Street Mod car has a full interior and
weighs in the 2600 pound range. They are allowed to remove the rear
seat only and alternate hoods, front fenders, and front
fascias. However, you don't loose 600 pounds off of that car with that alone.

Hello all,

I have come up with a set of 5 brand new S50/US 10.5 CR 85.97MM and One piston
that has been run for about 1000 miles but has a valve nick and some other
spots on the top of the pistons. Check out the pictures. My question is can
this piston be saved? All pistons have brand new rings. I know brand new this
set would get over $1000 bucks. Anyone need 5 pistons? How much do you think I
can get for this set?

Thanks

Kyle Sanchez

I had a similar situation on a piston and had a local machine shop clean it up
- worked fine but this was not in a high compression - performance engine -
after he was done you could not hardly tell it had been damaged - if the ring
lands have any damage i would not use it. Good luck

Phil

My apologies... I was looking at GVW (GROSS Vehicle Weight) on the door jam
(list at slightly over 3494#...
The owners' manual does state CURB weight at 2679# WITH all the heavy options
that I'm lacking (like sunroof, power seats, upgrades stereo...)

The Porsche 944 Turbo still weights 3100lbs from the factory (mine is less due
to removal of power seats, rear seat backs, lighter exhaust...)

The 240Z was listed at 2300#, plus 200-300 for the dealer installed A/C....

I'm still not going there though for the 325ix :)
