Great thread. I've been programming since the 60's (really!) and I am totally appalled by how difficult it is to program in .Net
I decided to learn it a few years ago because it seemed all I heard was .Net is the future. I found it the most time-consuming, difficult to debug, language/environment I have ever used. Most of the errors I made were considered valid code and were tediously difficult to locate. It seems every bug required hours of web searching to see if anyone else had the same symptoms.
