Getting back to Joe and his original question, I would say that
Fusebox probably is the best answer to what he is looking for.

But with that said, I would also say that if your ultimate goal is OO
and an OO-based framework, then just do it. If you have no experience
with any framework or any OO, then take Matt and Peter's advice from
the CF Weekly podcast: go learn some OO concepts, especially CFCs and
how they work. Google "Coldfusion OO", "Coldfusion CFC", "ColdFusion
component" and start reading, start playing with some code. There are
many excellent resources for learning OO, frameworks, etc. And there
are many great email lists such as this one to ask questions on,
bounce ideas off, etc. If you are more comfortable having one person
to go to, there are several people here (including myself) who may
even be willing to act as a mentor in your learning process.

Understanding CFCs and how they can represent your business model and
data is not too difficult. It does take some time. But that ime is
considered a wise investment in yourself and your programming career
(not just CF).
