E-mail sent to the Debian mailing list contains sufficient information
in its headers that reasonably-written MUAs should not have difficulty
detecting that it is mailing list e-mail and behaving appropriately by
default.
There are some of us on the unreasonably written iMail. No ReplyToList
button. Admittedly a significant failure of Apple's software designers.
It would be less trouble for the Debian listMasters to insert the
reply-to header in the template (once) than it is for me to get iMail to
reply to the list (every time I submit to the list).
