------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-07-06 22:58 -------
Quick note. I compiled the latest beta kernel (2.5.74) which includes the 1.8
DRM radeon module and reworked agpgart code. I was hoping that with the new
kernel my problems would go away, since I thought my latest round of tests (with
the discovery that ForcePCIMode rids me of my problems) demonstrated the
possibility that agpgart might be at fault. Sadly, I got the same kinds of
crashes with 2.5.74 that I was getting with 2.4.21-ac4. This doesn't really
prove anything except that the problem hasn't been fixed in the latest
kernel/agpgart development. Either that or it shows I'm barking up the wrong
kind of tree here ;)

I did notice different dmesg output from agpgart with the new kernel, but it
might have just been cosmetic. Whereas it says it found a "VIA Apollo PM4266"
in 2.4.21-ac4, it now says "VIA ProSavage DDR 266" or something like that.

What do you guys think the next step I should take is for diagnosing this problem?
