Hi! I overlooked one extremely simple but important fact about the "strange" stream Ralph sent to me: Its total data rate is slightly higher than 10.08 Mbps (which is the maximum the DVD muxer will accept). I guess that explains why there is an SCR overflow (indicated by lots of "Muxer problem" messages): The system clock advances slightly faster than the decoding timestamps, and eventually runs ahead of them.
Of course this didn't happen when the AC-3 audio data was missing (that is, without patch #6) - the data rate simply was lower without it. A DVD including such a stream will not be 100% compliant. Fortunately, many DVD players don't care as much about it as they used to in the Good Old Days(tm). Software players don't care at all, as far as I can tell. The question remains whether dvbcut must print such a long list of messages - a single one should be sufficient. Preferably one that is more informative than "Muxer problem"... -- Michael "Tired" Riepe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Tired: Each morning I get up I die a little ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
