gtk calculates minimum and maximum pixel sizes from the layout. ie if i packed
thngs into a vbox and said to every member "dont expand" then i packged the vbox
into the window - gtk would have a logical way of dealing with the widgets
beyond a "guess" as the app programmer has defined things to not be able to
expand in size. they then can also optionally set a foxed size of the window and
not allow grown and shrink- to be honest the rel problem lies in the programmer
of the app not allowing the window to be resized. thats the real issue at hand
here. maybe they have a good reason for it? who knows.
