Would it help manage the yarns if you use a ball winder and wind them all together first into a ball , then you can ply them all at once from the ball? That way maybe you wouldn't have to worry so much about maintaining even tension on the individual balls of yarn. I know this helps when knitting with multiple strands...might work here? Julie
