hi, i did apt-get install gaim (so i guess that means binary) gaim is version 0.68Use the unstable tree and install Gaim 0.74.

0.68 is rather old now and ALOT has been fixed/changed since then.
They try to put out a new point release every other thursday and youre about three months or so behind on the bugfixes.
0.68 came out 08-31-03.
I havent had it crash on my system with a bus error since version 0.64/65 or so..
