This sounds better argued, though I'm not willing to buy into the
science/medicine-can-do-no-wrong logic. The argument by adjective [1]
continues though ("false" statements, "warped" logic, "falsely"
claims, besides "tarnish"). Gilbert, I appreciate your approach of
being critical of the field you are part of. We all need it, and no
point in being fundamentalist about our (secular) ideologies and
beliefs. FN
**Dana Ullman, with his experience in the homeopathic field, shows his
expertise and could be called "Dr.Ullman"; he is helping humanity with his
products. Let the homeopathic physicians and their patients assess the
value of those products. All over the world there are physicians who are
healing the patients with homeopathic drugs. In India there are thousands
of them. Among those who have built homeopathic dispensaries there is the
German Jesuit, Fr.Augustus Muller, founder of Fr.Muller's Poor Dispensary
in Kankanady, Mangalore (today a huge Hospital and Medical College).
Another Jesuit who is publishing books and healing in the hospitals with
homeopathic drugs and naturopathy is Fr.Joseph Britto, who is giving talks
about health to the people all over India.
I am for "integrative medicine". Every medical system has its plus and minus
points. Medicine is not a panacea for all evils. 'Allopathy', the Western,
rational system, has so many minus points ( a lot of side effects), as the
physicians well know. That it is useful for the patients, we know that from
the hospitals and from our own experience since our childhood. We know also
its limits. Today homeopathy is popular among the people everywhere. Other
medical systems have also their plus points.
I am glad that Dr.Gilbert has brought it again to our awareness.
