Yes, any person who has passed 7th standard can write a book on homeopathy
because it does not require any kind of deeper understanding or even an
elementary knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology to write it. In fact,
proper understanding of science beyond 7th standard would cause one to realize
that writing such a book is a waste of time and paper.

By providing a link to an article containing false information and an
unjustified insinuation that modern medicine was not really scientific Gilbert
has done a disservice to the readers of Goanet. I hope he does not do such a
thing in the future.

In the past he has voiced legitimate criticism against the business of
medicine, the cost of health care and the role of government in regulating the
business and controlling the costs. On these latter issues I am in full
agreement with him, but also recognize that others can have a legitimate debate
about them. However, these are not limitations of modern medicine as a science.
They do not justify the claim that modern medicine is not really scientific.
Those who make the latter claim are invariably scientifically illiterate or
scam artistes who use dishonest means. The latter in particular deserve no
respect. The former need to be provided with remedial science education.

Cheers,

Santosh
