I agree, it seems to be using and old version of tveeprom.

It's not detecting the tuner correctly for starters

And this must be an old version, as newer version of tveeprom report
all versions of PAL they support, not just the first version they hit.

Try:

find /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ -name tveeprom.ko

And see what you get. Do the same for tuner.ko, msp3400.ko, and
tda8775.ko as well. Remove the older versions of these files, and
rerun depmod -a.
