Yes expect something different than a poodle-feeling coat, and maybe more difference in some than others.  Many people at my local dog club were quite surprised when they actually had a feel of my Quincy's coat, prior to this maybe their thoughts were too focused on Poodles.   By the way, the Poodle Breed Standard around the world mentions a "HARSH TEXTURE" coat. The Australian Labradoodle is not a Poodle but a completely different "Breed In Development" that has it's own "Breed Standard" and amongst many breed specific traits mentions a "SOFT TEXTURE" coat for Australian Labradoodles.
