Although readability is boosted I still find it takes years/months to make a complex project that does anything worthwhile in Pascal - or any language. And many C++ programmers are genius types - who could care less if the language is slightly more messy, because they have enough genius in them to understand it anyway. So it ends up being that a C++ program is just as easy to maintain if you are genius.
