Hi Bob This is an old link via the gomog site (that has all type of trad technical advice), this link is about installing an oil cooler on a Triumph engine. If you do install in front of the radiator it is advised the oil rad is as close to the water rad as possible to facilitate flow of air through both radiators rather than create turbulence by installing too far in front and stalling airflow.
http://www.team.net/www/morgan/tech/oil_cooler.html Most peeps these days go for an alloy rad at £600 + fitting, an oil cooler (rad and fitting kit with thermostat) is £145 and protects your oil and pressures in stress situations that a water rad won't - depends on how you use your car and the climate Richard M800RGN+8 ________________________________ From: Robert Jones <rjo...@wfeca.net> To: mogtalk2 <mogtalk2@listbox.com> Sent: Wednesday, 30 May 2012, 20:27 Subject: Re: [mogtalk2] Nose Job Any suggestions on installing an oil cooler on an early Plus 4 with a TR3 engine? Haven't done any motorway work yet, but I seem to be running 10-15* cooler and am running an indicated 85-95* in mixed driving - spirited and traffic and only minimal fan cutting in in stationary traffic now. I always displayed an indicated 100-120 in hot-very hot weather depending on driving style - never ever lost any coolant though. Will stave off the ally rad for a bit methinks, but will eventually give in. > >Richard M800RGN+8 >View posts on The Mail Archive >http://www.mail-archive.com/mogtalk2@listbox.com/ >Modify Your Subscription <IMG_0001.jpg> View posts on The Mail Archive http://www.mail-archive.com/mogtalk2@listbox.com/ Modify Your Subscription ------------------------------------------- View posts on The Mail Archive http://www.mail-archive.com/mogtalk2@listbox.com/ [http://www.mail-archive.com/mogtalk2@listbox.com/] Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=22459785&id_secret=22459785-4a39ddf8 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
