Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     8/16: A LEAST BITTERN was seen along the Wildlife Drive.

     8/17: An ORCHARD ORIOLE was spotted on VanDyne Road.

     8/18: A GLOSSY IBIS was seen in the Main Pool. A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER 
was seen on VanDyne Spoor Road.

     8/19: An OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER was found on Towpath Road.

     8/20: 13 Shorebird species including BAIRD’S SANDPIPER, WHITE-RUMPED 
SANDPIPER and SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER were seen at Knox-Marcellus and Puddlers 
Marshes.

     8/21: 7 Shorebird Species including WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER were seen at 
the Visitor’s Center.







Cayuga County

     8/21: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER and 2 SANDERLINGS were seen at Fair Haven 
State Park. 







Onondaga County

------------




     8/17: A CAPE MAY WARBLER was seen at Oneida Shored Park.

     8/18: A SWAINSON’S  THRUSH was heard in flight over Willamue Drive in 
Syracuse.

     8/19: A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was seen from Devonshire Road in syracuse.

     8/21: 2 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were seen on Onondaga Creek from 
Spencer Streen in Syracuse. A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was seen at the Marshy Spits 
in the west side of Onondaga Lake near the State Fair.







Oswego County

------------




     8/16: A BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was seen on Baum Road in Hastings.

     8/18: A BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was seen in Constantia. 

     8/19: 12 Shorebird species including BLACK-BELLIED and AMERICAN GOLDEN 
PLOVER, WILLET, and STILT SANDPIPER were seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet on Lake 
Ontario. A SWAINSON’S TRUSSH was seen in Constantia..

     8/20: 13 Shorebird species including WHIMBREL, STILT SANDPIPER, BAIRD’S 
SANDPIPER and WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER were seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet.

     8/21: A FORSTER’S TERN was seen at the Sandy Pond Outlet.

     8/23: WILLET, WHIMBREL. RED KNOT and LITTLE GULL were all found at the 
Sandy Pond Outlet.







Madison County

     8/21: A BLACK VULTURE was seen at the Madison County Impoundment north of 
Hamilton.







Herkimer County

------------




     8/16: A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was seen in Salisbury north of 
Dolgeville.

     8/19: A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was seen in Old Forge.

     8/22: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen on the Adironcack Bank in Little Falls.
