Hi, 
I have the same setup with solar controller and analog temp sensors. But 
instead of tampering with that one i use ordinary ds18s20 (1wire digi temp) 
strapped to both the incoming and outgoing side of the solar heating system. 
The sensors seems to cope fine with the high temps. (had an incident with 
melting insulation on connecting cables but that won't happen again :)

Works as a "good enough" solution for me
