Keith, I find myself using the FA 28-105 as my walkabout lens most of the
time.  I have a 35-135 (non-Pentax) also, and I will pick the latter in
circumstances where I know the subject is always going to need more reach,
and an 18-35 for tight situations (I do have primes as well, of course!)

The 28-105 is certainly of good enough quality for most use.
