Larry,

Thanks for sharing these photos. It's been ages since I've gone to any
events of this sort... I was looking at this while waking up, so, it
took me a few moments to figure out what "squake" was ;-)

And the website for listing blues exchanges gets misread in amusing manners too.

It was pleasant to spot a few familiar faces..
Cf. this old PUG photo:

Yes, they were both there. Unless Jane showed them to you, there are probably more people you know in the big set:

This photo: LRC17588, is lacking the lower part of it. The effect is
somewhat weird: it looks as if the guy is extremely short.

This 17588?

The horn section was sitting down, Alex is standing up. I'd hope that Clint and Ryan are shorter sitting down than Alex is standing up.

:-)

Re: LRC17588
I am not sure about the microphone that Christine has mentioned.
On one hand, I wish it was a bit futher from the face to be less
dominant, on another hand, - it's a part of the scene, and "accessory"
of a sort.

If I were doing a studio shoot with Jess, I'd ask her to be a bit further from the mic, if only for the shadows. Clint was also on top of the mic when he was singing.

Take a look at the first two photos in this set (sorry for the flash, -
I am guilty of being affected by the fud, and never got to redo it.
Maybe, you'll find this idea useful here. Even though one of those 10
videos that you've posted recently was denying this type of affects, I
like the way it worked for me. YMMV:

Interesting, in the one with the women, I would have wanted to leave them color both in the room and in the mirror and done everything else black and white.

Even if you choose not to do "selective color", try sephia, it might
give that photo of yours an interesting view.

I have never liked sepia, it's kind of like parsnips. I understand that other people like it, but it's just not for me.

Finally, - I think people here, on PDML, would appreciate if you posted
the direct link to the photo of YOU from that even posted by someone else.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I'll let the photographer do that herself.

Cheers,

Igor

C & C appreciated, as always. I might even give your suggestions a try.

Interestingly, of the people photographing the event almost nobody was
using Canikon. Nicole and I were shooting Pentax, Scott had is u4/3 and a
fixed lens sony FF mirrorless, and Richard was using fuji. One afternoon,
I saw someone that I didn't recognize taking some pictures of classes,
and
he was wearing a fancy harness with two big Canons hanging off it. The
videographer hand a Canon 5D, but I didn't see him shooting any stills.
