Hi Stefano, I'm not sure about this- how would this be different than each language having a seperate project? Except that they would all be "hosted" on CPAN, and CPAN cannot really host a project- no bug reporting mechanism, mailing lists, etc. It would mean missing out on all the benefits of a shared project - consistancy between languages, smaller workload in maintaining the actual project site, etc. Of course, as a central place for users to find the finished translations, this is a great idea. BTW, are the translations on your site automatic conversions from Italian POD files, or do you create the HTML by hand? If the first, what do you use to do the conversion? How are the POD files saved, in plain ASCII? For hebrew this would obviously not work... Do you think the converter you use (if you use one) can handle UTF-8 encoded files? Can it output UTF-8 encoded HTML? Last point- If anyone CC'd here knows of additional perldoc translations efforts, e.g. to German, Chinese, etc., please try to contact those groups and add them to this discussion, so they can be aware of this initial discussion and maybe contribute input (if they are so inclined).
