I guess, a wild guess, the current binary released Plucker doesn't use theses APIs in some parts yet. (I guess i18n branch's main objective is this modification.) And TxtGlue* and other *Glue* are functions which can be compiled in applications and which enable i18n on almost all PalmOS devices. The functions in PalmOSGlue.a are linked in per function basis with prc-tools environment. So I guess there is not much code bloat with *Glue* functions.
