Yeah, but freelancers tend to work by themselves, or on teams that form only for a short period of time. I want to work with a team long enough to learn how they work, swapping tips and tricks and generally doing waay more than we could have by ourselves. Synergy, you know? =)

Anyway, I want to work for a company that actively looks out for the development of its employees. Career paths (that don't force everyone to be managers if they don't want to, yet provides plenty of opportunities for growth! =) ), great environment, nice culture..

Yeah, something like that! =D I don't have too many needs, anyway - I'm on a 300MMX and I still love my comp! =) - so there's not a lot of pressure.

Then again, I also believe that good compensation will follow good performance. =) If I'm useful, I might get paid pretty okay.

Actually, it's not just that. I read that they do all sorts of cool things just for developer morale..

Yeah, but there are very few people lucky enough to get paid doing open source.. <laugh>
