That's completely right. To even completely understand the layout
mechanics for example you must understand many features of qooxdoo. You
must invest many many hours. This is nothing a half-time developer could
do. qooxdoo more than a megabyte of source code. It's not just a little
cute toy. Correct.

I guess that's a bit of an exaggeration. I was trying to say that normal
users aren't capable of contributing more than testing & bug reporting.
To match Sebastian and Andreas quality you need more time on your hands
than whatever you can steal from your own project. You need some
financial backing and commitment to the project. qooxdoo is not some
little toy.
