After much Googling, I'm posting to the list in hopes of someone else having
this archaic printer.

Research dug up these links:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/pipermail/lexmark-list/2002q2/000803.html
http://www.linuxprinting.org/pipermail/lexmark-list/2002q2/000840.html ,
which led to:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_driver.cgi?driver=lm1100 , and finally:
http://www.burntcouch.com/lexmark/ , which is 404.

The OS will spool the job, and the queue will chew on it for a few moments
and then remove it, just like it thought the job finished without error; but
no paper comes out.
I tried a few of the generic drivers, and the printer head will start
jumping back and forth, making several loud grinding noises, so at least I
know there's communication happening.

A few days ago, it printed fine under WinXP; so the printer and cables at
least work.

Anyone?
Thanks again.
