Don,
There are many reasons that a person has to register as an offender. some of which I believe are questionable. Without knowing the specifics, I will not comment. If you believe there is a concern over their activities you have several options, including contacting the local authorities, contacting the FCC and making them aware of the status of these individuals, or simply asking them to stay off your repeater. If you choose the later, issue them both a verbal request over the repeater and follow up with a well-written registered letter (with delivery receipt) with another copy going to the FCC. I hope this is as far as this thread goes. 73, Mike WM4B From: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Don Sent: Saturday, August 09, 2008 6:58 PM To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Registered Sex Offenders Hello I hope Everyone is doing Well , Some things We do not like talking about Except with our Ham friends Privately and I am sure My Topic is one that may effect all of us But I have a Question and I have got a lot of Opinions , But I Need to know if Anyone Has the Real answer and can Give ,Me the FCC Rule Etc A group of us are aware of a Couple Registered Sex Offenders who are Lic Ham Radio operators, They use some of the Local Repeaters .
