Thanks for the response, and for trying the additional test.
I will do more testing to narrow down the problem.

chord-notes can be held.
With the use of a sustained voice (string ensemble 1), pressing the key
to switch from major-7th to minor 7th, only the 3rd and the 7th are
changed by the software, and the other notes of the chord are held out
for what can be a really long time.
Regardless, it causes no problem to Qsynth, the emu10k1 hardware
synthesizer, a Yamaha S90-ES, another Yamaha synthesizer (I forget the
designation), or a Roland D20.
