Thank you so very much for looking at this!
I will attempt to install the latest Rosegarden source and build it.
By the way, I already have Eclipse (that's my main Java development
environment), and I (yesterday) installed the capability of doing C/C++
into it (because I need to develop a Java Native Interface to interface
my MIDI creation with ALSA software devices (the hardware devices
already work with no help from a JNI)).
I am currently in the middle of something, but I will get to this new
task within a week.
