OK.  I don't think it will seem unnatural since it does nothing worse than
it did before: alt-down goes to the first segment even if there's a closer
one.  I will put up what I have (after I debug scrolling to pointer
position).

In other news, I've partly debugged what's going on with
slotPointerPositionChanged.  Man, that code has tendrils all over the
place!  This one part has taken 30 times as long as coding the rest.

Apparently when Notation starts up, NotationScene can't yet compute the
right coordinates, though it thinks it can.  So it tells (long chain of
calls) that anything (eg, position pointer) is at zero x coordinate.  So
Panned dutifully but uselessly "scrolls" to the beginning.  At some point
afterwards, NotationScene gets right and then scrolling works.

So that may be another bugfix bonus, if I can solve it.
