[Dspace-tech] error in User Registration
Hello All, I have installed dspace-4.0 and using JSPUI. Hello All, I need your guidance. I want to learn how to harvest the metadata or metadata bitstream url from another dspace repositary. Suppose I have given OAI provider n OAI set ID n related info in the edit collection page then I updated it successfully what next ? how do I check it that all the data is harvested here ??? do I need to do anything else after that like running some command or else ? Hello All, We are using DSpace 1.7.x for managing a repository. Currently, when we try to 'View' the document, it opens up in a new Tab (if the file is less than 10-12 MB) or it directly downloads the file (if the file is more than 10-12 MB). We want Dspace to open the document in a new tab to view everytime any body hits the 'View' button (independent of the file size) Also, in the 1st condition, where it opens up the file in a new tab, it doesnt stream the file page wise, all the pages are first loaded and then we can view the pages. We would want to start viewing the first couple of pages as soon as the file opens in the browser while the remaining pages can take their time to load. same as a google doc. [Dspace-tech] about item records
Hello All, I have a metadata dc.subject. In item display the value for this metadata is shown as a KEYWORDS for show simple item records and for show full item record label is dc.subject. Now I have changed this metadata as dc.subject.xyz instead of dc.subject. From now i cant see this value in show simple item records which is shown as a KEYWORD earlier. Hello, * I m trying to integrate DSPACE REST-API into dspace-1.7.2. During the RD i found some steps to follow through which i can do that. steps are below. * 1) Create a new directory for the REST module source code - dspace-src/dspace-rest. 2) Checkout the source code from http://scm.dspace.org/svn/repo/modules/dspace-rest/trunk/ into the new directory. 3) Incorporate the new module into your project by adding a new module element for dspace-rest to the 'all' profile in dspace-src/pom.xml. 4) Tell Maven to use your new local module by adding a new profile to dspace-src/dspace/pom.xml. If you don't do this the project will build okay but won't be using your local source code for that module. 5) Create a new directory dspace-src/dspace/modules/rest. 5a) Add a sub-directory src/main/webapp and a pom.xml to the directory created in 5. Hello Everybody, I have some sort of que regarding Dspace, I ll be very thankful if someone help me on this. 1. Does DSpace has the feature to do search in languages other than English? Does anybody has experience in working on Indian languages / Arabic / Urdu languages? 2. I had a couple of times asked a question about Document Viewer integrated. I basically would want to prevent the user from downloading the doc / Taking a printout of the document. 3. Total no. of steps to deposit an item in DSpace are 7 - 8.User find it difficult to have these many steps. So can we make it to 2 or 3? 4. Is there a Custom Reporting feature developed by anybody in the community? 5. Hello i m using dspace 1.7.2 in red-hat want to create a admin for my dspace instance. There is no problem with mvn package n ant fresh_install command, those were successfully completed. But create-administrator give me a error as below. [Dspace-tech] sync problem between 2 diff instance on 2 diff server
Hello On the single instance of Dspace there are chances of down-server problem bcoz of the traffic. So i dont want let this happen n want to use 2 server. The purpose of doing this is to cut-out the load on the single server. So I install dspace on 2 diff system, DB of the both system is common n assetstore folder is also common. It is working very well but wen i tried to search item uploaded by system A on the system B.i m getting no result. So i made search folder as a common for both the dspace instance.
