If you check out the WM_HINTS for it using xprop, you'll notice that it says that it wants to start iconified for whatever reason, and if you restart E, it will indeed be iconified. My guess (totally unfounded) is that E expects it to start iconified, but then doesn't do it, which makes it ignore the remembered position, size, and desktop (since it's supposed to start minimized anyway). You can get it to remember with some experimentation, but then it remembers for sub windows as well. More experimentation can get you a remember setup if apps dont change name and class for subwindows there is not much we can do. name and class are intended to be fixed for a window once created. title can change. e tracks this. title is not a useufl thing generally touse to match on. thats why there's window type and transience as dialogs are mostly transient (unless u are firefox :) - like the download manager dialog) or they may provide differentiating netwm window types. that works for all it's sub windows too. Not wanting to invade someones privacy... but there are quite some people around here that may want to help. Where (town/country) does mandrake live? Maybe someone lives close and can go have a look at his home address? That might be a way to find out what happened. Besides getting enlightenment.org http://enlightenment.org back on, I think there are many people in the e devel team that are wondering what's happened. Well, where he lived was to be found on his website... The most I can now find is http://www.google.com/search?hl=enq=tammy+mandrakebtnG=Google+Search http://www.google.com/search?hl=enq=tammy+mandrakebtnG=Google+Search But I am sure that Rasterco have done way more digging than this. I for one am sure wondering what has happened to him. Hope he is ok.
