You can exclude libzypp-bindings as well. And for the other packages, you don't
provide enough information of the failure.
Please check the branch you are working on, and use the release repo[1] instead

Subject: [Tizen General] [TizenIVI][Compilation]How to fully build the TizenIVI
3.0 milestone source code

Hi all:
In our projects, we have to fullly build the TizenIVI 3.0, Some unimportant
package failed is OK, we just want to build the most packages, and create a
image to be run in virtual machine.

We have tried to build the TizenIVI source code using the 2013-10-11 milestone
manifest
xml(http://download.tizen.org/releases/daily/tizen/ivi/ivi-release/tizen_20131011.2/builddata/manifest/tizen_20131011.2_ia32.xml),
but many packages failed and build error, this interrupts the building: error:
*** Error Summary ***
=== the following packages failed to build because export source files to build
environment failed (9) === gst-ffmpeg0.10-0.10.11-19

capi-messaging-email: nothing provides pkgconfig(email-service) ?

Question1:
So if there're any method to build the full TizenIVI 3.0 successful or fix
the error? I have seen a relative
post(https://developer.tizen.org/forums/general-support/tizen-source-code-building),
but the problem is not fixed. Of course, some unimportant packages failed is
OK?only if we can create a image to be run in the VM. ?

Question2:
Some package build failed or export source failed, and the whole building
interrupt, Can I use the milestone release source
package(http://download.tizen.org/releases/daily/tizen/ivi/ivi-release/tizen_20131011.2/repos/ivi/source/)
to replace it, then continue the building? And How? I have not found the
relative article in TizenIVI wiki. ?

Question3:
Is there any detail information about how the TizenIVI Team build the
milestone release ? We want to build the milestone source code like the
TizenIVI Team does. The wiki gives few
decriptions(https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/Tizen_Release_Management).

 Any help would be appreciated!

Plus:
I post a topic in
https://developer.tizen.org/forums/general-support/how-fully-build-tizenivi-3.0-milestone-source-code
but no reply, so I try to post my question to the maillist.

Re: [Tizen General] tizen offline build

2013-11-17 Thread Wang, Ning W
Hi Santosh,

To build offline, you should download the target repo you need to local
machine. This can be done via rsync.
Then modify the repo url in your .gbs.conf to point to the local path like url
= /home/localrepo/.
You also need to use gbs -D option to build the package using your local
build conf. For Tizen 2.2, you can download the build conf from
http://download.tizen.org/releases/2.2/latest/builddata/.
Anyway, I haven't tried it out yet. Above is what I can think of.

First time build was successful by connecting to internet.

Next time i'm trying to build from local repository without connecting to
internet(I removed already built SRPMS and RPMS) .

But i'm getting error to build certatin packages without connecting to internet
which were successful in the first iteration. Why this is happening? I need to
have a successful build with local sources without connecting to net.

Hi Santosh,

Please follow steps documented here[1] to build u-boot[2]
To build your own boot loader, you can refer to the porting guide[3].

Hi Ning,
Thank you for the quick reply.
I followed the below link to download the complete tizen source code .
https://source.tizen.org/documentation/articles/creating-tizen-platform-image-scratch-through-local-build
In the source I'm seeing only kernel directory , there is no u-boot related
directory present .
Let me know whether I'm missing anything.
Or is it possible to build my boot loader code with gbs , and provide the
mkimage path for the kernel compilation?
Regards,
Santosh

Per my understanding, the smack rules for a web app are basic application rules
+ privilege specific rules. The privileges declared in application's
manifest.xml will affect the privilege specific rules.

I recently started studying smack on Tizen and I have some questions that I was
unable to find answers by searching the web.

The questions are the following:
- Are Smack rules created at application installation time?
- Does privileges declared on application manifest.xml have a corresponding
smack label?
- What is responsible for creating smack rules? The kernel? If yes, how can a
userspace program request the kernel to create smack rules?

I would appreciate if someone could help me =)

Thanks,
Glauco.

I don't think the camera-app you mentioned can work on Tizen IVI 3.0. It's
developed for Tizen mobile which is X based. But Tizen IVI 3.0 is Wayland
based, it can't work out-of-box.

My team has not done much work with a Camera for IVI. We don’t have a
reference hardware camera component to work with. Later this year, we will
probably start working with a MPX-885 camera, but not for a few months yet.

Of course if anyone else wants to help out Tizen IVI by doing some of the work
to get camera going that would be very exciting and interesting and I would do
everything I can to encourage them.

I’m pretty sure any “camera-app” you may find in the repos has is there based
on development done by Samsung for their target (mobile) system.

The Tizen IVI 3.0 M2 release is planned for December 2013. There are monthly
previews for M2 planned starting with July 2013. You can see the planned
versions and dates here:
https://bugs.tizen.org/jira/browse/TIVI#selectedTab=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project%3Aversions-panel

Unlike the Mobile profile, IVI does not support the “OSP” native APIs. So
“Native” app development is done with the underlying platform component APIs.
For example you can use EFL or OpenGL, and also use gstreamer, or bluez, or
connman APIs etc. The “Lemolo” dialer is an example of a native application.
https://review.tizen.org/git/?p=profile/ivi/lemolo.git;a=summary. You may get
answers from the general tizen mail list that talk about doing native
development using OSP native APIs that won’t apply to doing IVI development.

Developers typically use GBS and MIC for development, and there is much
discussion here on how to use it. Here are some references.

Hi group,

I asked this half a year ago and I'm asking again as work on Tizen has
progressed:

Does anyone of you know what (if any) accessibility features
(magnification, screen reader) will be baked into the system (like
VoiceOver in iOs anf TalkBack in Android)? Is there any documentation on
that, anywhere?

Best,
Detlev

Hello list,

This lockscreen 'Time Magazine' text is driving me nuts. I've searched all of
/etc /var and a bunch of other places on RD-PQ and RD-210 devices using
Magnolia and Nectarine.

Although a freindly Intel engineer told me they had found the place of 'Life
Magazine' static text and changed it, I can't figure out where this place is.

  $ rpm -qf org.blahblah-lockscreen-blah

...gives a long list of files and gettext(1) portable object files but none
contain the text in question. It seems there's no config file for the
lockscreen either?

There is a .edje binary with the text 'Life Magazine' but when I modify it the
lockscreen doesn't appear anymore. What the?

Michael

hi,

I installed the last released yesderday using intaller version 2.1.4

Today I tried the SystemInfo Web Application sample.

the code fails execution getCapabilities()

I found this curious as in the beta release of SDK 2.1 this was working quite
well.

After some investigations from the tizen api , systeminfo is just missing .
it is also missing in SDK Config XML privileges API editor : you do not have
the systeminfo api to add among all the choice of api you can add.

Does someone else notice this?

When this could be fixed?

Cordially,
Paul

From the link provided, it appears that the applications for ref and core are

peripherals for Raspberry Pi and I just wanted to have something similar for
Tizen in general.

Btw I created another article called Tizen for PC which redirects to Tizen

Hi Carsten,
I am using the command echo 1,1/0/0/0
/sys/devices/platform/vpss/display1/order in Ti platform to change the display
order. With this I am to play video+audio using command line gstreamer

video player when launched from command line does not shows up anything on
screen. It not even shows any controls as such. But when I use
edje_player -p -S /opt/apps/org.tizen.video-player/res/edje/progress.edj, I can
see progress for video player.
Hao,
The 2.0 magnolia release video player compiles successfully but when I try to
use it in 2.0alpha it requires osp packages which is not present in 2.0alpha. I
tried to build the 2.0 magnolia video player in gbs with --deps and --rdeps
options but the dependent osp packages are not getting built.
Please suggest ideas to solve the issue.

well that's just loading the gfx file for the video player... no video involved
there.

chances are that it has something to do with the fact that all our tests happen
on our own hw and customized driver setups that supports specific video layouts,
formats, video layering, framebuffer formats, gpu drivers etc. etc. and
something you have is not filling in one of those. tizen is far from a generic
OS built for generic hardware then to be adapted. it is built and adapted very
specifically for specific hardware and driver/os setups. somewhere in that
massive stack something has gone awry and there is not enough information in
your emails for me to know what. it could be related to video pipeline, video
layers, compositing, xorg drivers, opengl drivers, or possibly somewhere
else... i work on the efl bits. i don't know the specifics of the video player
app (tizen is too big and basically a totally foreign os as i know of no one,
including me, who uses it day to day on their phones, pc's or laptops - it's
always a foreign os on the end of some serial/usb line at this stage). does the
video player force opengl? not? does it force alpha channel windows ASSUMING
the video hw layer will inherit the alpha pixels and magically just show the
video layer? if its totally black - then what happened to its window? where?
why? is compositor compositing (probably should have turned itself off for a
fullscreen window)?... lots of q's few answers atm. :)

Subject: [Tizen General] How to start with Tizen 2.0 release source code?

Hi all,

Could anyone let me know how to reproduce all of source code that is released
as a Tizen 2.0 magnolia, please? Is there any suitable branch name for the
release or any proper way to get the code?

I've run gbs clone or git clone for projects listed in gerrit (*1).
However, not all repository have tizen_2.0 branch, which seems a branch for
Tizen 2.0 release. Some have 2.0, some has only 2.0alpha, some have no suitable
branch for magnolia, some have even no master branch, btw. Furthermore, I've
also thought about running gbs import for all source rpm packages as a
workaround (*2) but it will make my life harder when to make a patch against
HEAD and run gbs remotebuild or submit. Therefore, I would like to understand
how to git checkout properly for tizen 2.0 (magnolia) release.

Please note that the reason why I would like to reproduce all of source code
for Tizen 2.0 release is that I would like to start with stable code rather
than HEAD. With your help, I think I will be able to prepare source code for
2.0 release and be able to switch to HEAD if needed.

Any kind of suggestion and/or information would be appreciated. Thanks in
advance.

Best regards,

Uichi

2013-03-18 Thread Wang, Ning W
Hi Uichi,

Branch tizen_2.0 is for Tizen 2.0 release. And the official release mentioned
in https://source.tizen.org/release is pointed to tizen-2.0_20130219.4.

Thanks,

Hello Wang,

Thank you very much for sharing the information. It's much easier than what I
did. Excellent! I've started to run repo init and sync as you mentioned. It'd
take some time to finish.

In the meantime, let me clarify something bellow.

What I wanted to know is a branch name for Tizen 2.0 release, I think. The repo
init command can take -b branch_name option, -b android-4.1.1_r6 for
Android 4.1.1 release for instance. Do you know the branch name for Tizen 2.0
release? Please note that I would like to clone what Tizen 2.0 released rather
than HEAD.

I'm not sure which version is official one but I could see
tizen-2.0_20130218.10 and
tizen-2.0_20130219.4 releases under http://download.tizen.org/releases/2.0/. So
that my question would be How to checkout source code for all of repositories
of, say, tizen-2.0_20130219.4 release?.

Again, any kind of suggestions would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Uichi

You can download all source code by using manifest tool with repo init and repo
sync like:
$ repo init -u git://gitorious.org/tizen-toys/tizen-manifest
$ repo sync

If you don't provide conf file with -D option, gbs will fetch the build conf
automatically from a remote repo. In your case, it failed to fetch it. So you

tried to create account in https://build.tizen.org/user/register_user , But
failed with error LDAP mode enabled, users can only be registered via LDAP
(err_register_save)

Thanks,
Sarath
