Re: [Hardhats-members] VOEScanning Source Code
The source code for the proprietary component, in the past, cost about $200 and any work done with it could be redistributed as a binary with no fees. Hopefully the guys from VOES will jump in here and discuss the remainder of the source code, which I believe is licensed under LGPL for at least the part done for the VOE project and maybe all of it. I can't find a copy of the source code. I am not sure I ever had it. On Monday 22 December 2008, Nancy Anthracite wrote: Some of the source code is proprietary. Re: [Hardhats-members] CPRS-Delphi Compilation error word97.dcu
The system you were working on that I host has the file, Kevin, so that may be why you didn't have the error. On Friday 19 December 2008, Kevin Toppenberg wrote: I have not encountered this error. I think you are going to have to hit the Internet to find a copy of Delphi 7 Pro or above and be sure you can get the license with it or transfer the one you get from the current license holder. Re: [Hardhats-members] Problem building CPRS in Delphi
You are likely to find many other files missing. Just make a list and send it to me as I probably have copies on our development server. You will have other issues as well as this is not a smooth transition from Delphi 7 to Delphi 2006 or 2007 which is why we have not done it. If you can get your hands of a copy of Delphi 6 or 7 Pro, life will be a lot easier until CPRS 1.0.27.* comes out. I suspect the release of that CPRS may be delayed while they work out the bugs that are giving them problems with it. [Hardhats-members] PowerPoint files from VEHU
I just recieved this information from Becky Monroe at the VA and I have edited it slightly to fit the external web site. ** Just a reminder - all the PowerPoint files from classes at the VHA eHealth University conference are available on the VEHU website at http://www.vehu.va.gov/ The web page is being redesigned, and there are hopes the navigation witll be easier, but in the meantime, here are some instructions so you can find them now! 1. go to: http://www.vehu.va.gov/ 2. click on class catalog and find the class you'd like to view. (This class catalog contains our entire list of classes from past VeHU's - but the 2007 classes are listed first. 3. Click on the link for the class - and you will see the class information page for that class. This page contains the PowerPoint files, links to any supporting materials, and will also contain the link to the web-based training when it is completed. (Hopefully we'll begin posting web-based training by next month!) Alternatively - and this will be faster if you're looking for a specific subject or class number: 1. go to: http://www.vehu.va.gov/ 2. scroll down to the search tool. Type the class number or subject you'd like to look for in the keyword text box. You can also select a specific track if you are only listed in classes for a specific target audience. 3. The results of the search will be shown - and you can click on the link for each class to get to the class information page for that class. This page contains the PowerPoint files, links to any supporting materials, and will also contain the link to the web-based training when it is completed. So, if we can get organized and get enough people with audio and maybe video recording capability on these calls, we can get them posted sooner for everyone's benefit., VA and Non-VA. I have use the commercial program SnagIt to record sessions in the past. I am not sure if there is something open source. As I recall, SnagIt does not do Audio, so you will need a separate voice recorder if you got that route. Here is the announcement is about these sessions: VeHU is next week. Are you one of the individuals that didn't get approval to attend? You don't have to miss out completely. Attend Virtual VeHU! Virtual VeHU is list of class offerings that are broadcast with a distance learning tool called Live Meeting. You can sign up to take the class even if you are not approved for travel. Some classes are not conducive to distance learning like panel discussions and hands-on classes. However, there is still a long list of Live Meeting classes in every curriculum. Seats are limited so we ask that you encourage everyone to schedule a conference room and share a reservation by using only one dial in number. Don't wait until all the seats are taken. Sign up today by using the following link to enroll in your favorite sessions. Here is a link to the COPY of the page from the VA internal network with the sessions listed. The link for registering will not work, of course, but the links to the live meeting sessions do work. I need FIRST NAME , LAST NAME, PHONE NUMBER, EMAIL, and the NUMBER OF THE SESSION to sign you up. This will only work for those calling from within the United States. http://download.opensourcevista.net/downloads/Live Meeting Registration.htm BTW, I had permission to snag this page and post it. I will dig around to see if I can get the latest catalog of sessions. There is an older listing here that we received long ago so things may have changed: http://download.opensourcevista.net/downloads/Draft%20VeHU%20Catalog%200617.html Remember, I need FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, PHONE NUMBER, EMAIL and SESSION NUMBER to sign you up. Any volunteers out there to organize things for recording these sessions? I can't take the time to do it, so we need one or more volunteers if it is going to happen. -- Nancy Anthracite - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. There is big and there is BIG! On Thursday 27 July 2006 10:35, Roger A Maduro wrote: FYI. Big news. Roger - Senate directs DOD to use VA EHR architecture Bob Brewin, Govt. Health IT July 26, 2006 http://govhealthit.com/article95423-07-26-06-Web The Senate directed the Defense Department to adopt the Department of Veterans Affairs’ electronic health record (EHR) architecture in its version of the VA 2007 Appropriations bill approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee’s Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on July 21. In its version of the 2007 VA appropriations bill, passed last month, the House Appropriations Committee’s Military Quality of Life and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee used similar language, directing DOD and the VA to adopt identical software, data standards and data repositories for their EHR systems. Both bills now go to a conference between the two branches of Congress, and if the intent of the language in both makes it through that process, DOD and the VA would end up using the same EHR to serve a population of 9.2 million active-duty and retired personnel in the Military Health System (MHS) and roughly 5 million veterans who use VA health care facilities -- Roger A. The main GUI is CPRSChart, a thick client for clinicians run on a Windows machine. You have to start Taskman and the RPC Broker and set up a user in the roll and scroll to utilize the GUI. A Physician user needs a few things set up in file 200 - The Keys PROVIDER and ORES, the CPRS TAB, COR, the secondary menu OR CPRS GUI CHART, the RESTRICT PATIENT SELECTION set to NO, set the ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE CODE, DISUSER to NO, AUTHORIZED TO WRITE MED ORDERS set to yes and an ACCESS CODE. I am entering the right access code but it does not seem to work, the same access code is accepted if I do D ^XUP. Am I missing something, would help any pointers or suggestions .. Thanks Karthikand Have you encountered the VERFY CODE prompt before? Remember that ^XUP is a programmer utility that isn't meant to be used as a normal method of signing in to VistA. When users do sign in, they will be asked for both access and verify codes (they are different). the idea is that when you create a new account, you can assign an access code and provide it to the user (e.g., in a sealed envelope), but you do not create a verify code, but just leave it blank. When the user signs in the first time, they only need hit enter at the VERIFY CODE prompt, but they will then be immediately prompted for a new one. That way, if someone should learn what access code you provided, that knowledge will not be enough to allow them to sign in. To sign in, it is necessary to know BOTH the access and verify codes. You can think of it as a two part password, one part assigned by the user, and the other by the system administrator. One problem with this scheme is that since the access code is also used to identify who is logging in (as a kind of login name and password combined), it cannot be aged but remains fixed. Users should be required to changed their verify codes periodically (say every 90 days) using the standard aging mechanism. But a brute force attack would involve entering both access and verify codes and, as you see, the system doesn't tell you which is wrong. That makes it difficult to obtain the access code without also knowing the verify code. Gregory Woodhouse [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks for the detailed answer, that cleared it up. Is there a way to access the system using GUI ? Also, do I need to setup taskman or other components for GUI requests ? Re: [Hardhats-members] Indexes and Indices
According to my Debian Linux online dictionary using Webster from 1913, indices is the only correct use for roots and powers in mathematics, but indexes is correct (as well or only, I wonder) elsewhere. So does that make math majors snobs? Index \Index\, n.; pl. E. Indexes, L. Indices(?) ... 6. (Math.) The figure or letter which shows the power or root of a quantity; the exponent. [In this sense the plural is always indices.] [1913 Webster] I expect it is according to 1913 Webster because anything newer is still under copyright. Do you suppose that we will regress as we become more open and online because copyright protection (for Disney's sake) keeps being extended longer and longer, so we will be referring to older and older dictionaries? On Wednesday 19 July 2006 16:27, Greg Woodhouse wrote: I'm afraid I can't give you a sceen capture right now, but the option you want is Cross Reference a Field, which I believe is under the Utilities menu. You will notice that there are two types of cross-references: traditional and new style. A uniquenes index is a special kind of new-style cross-reference, so if you create a traditional cross-reference, you won't encounter any questions about uniqueness. (Did you notice how I deftly switched to speaking of cross-references whenever I needed a plural? When drugs are dispensed now this pick list (corresponding to a ward group) needs to be sent to the ATC (most probably linked with a real ward). There seems to be ambiguities in the link between Pharmacy and Inventory. Inventory item is associated with Drug but is never used for item keeping. 2. I just compressed it from what was there by zipping it up. I have not run it through to try to compress it further. There are a number of files that make it up, one main one that has the main content, but others as well that I assume have to do with the closed captionoing, etc., so it is not an obvious import as one thing, export as another. Maybe we can have a three or more part torrent. Between Alberto, another person who has written to me and offered, and my server as a server and client, and any others who want to join, that should work pretty well. Raymond said he would set it up early next month barring any complications. Alternatively, if folks just plain want to post the video, more power to you. Ping me off the list and I will get it to you. Meanwhile, I can easily handle the number of requests I have received for videos so far since I am geared up to produce them. Hey SSNs are always unique, right? :) At 06:48 PM 7/17/2006, Greg wrote: As you know, Fileman does not require that the .01 field be a key (meanining it is non-null and no two records can have the same value). Is there a down side to making it a key? If it is made a key, what do you think about making the B cross-reference a uniqueness index? I think I once created a separate uniqueness index (BB), but then thought that doing so was absurd, as it would simply duplicate the B index, so I dweleted both and created a new uniqueness index (B) and used it to support a key consisting of just the .01 field. Everything seemed to work fine, but I don't think I ever actually released any code that used a file designed this way. - Take Surveys. Earn Cash. Re: [Hardhats-members] M Programming
In Cache, you can map your routines elsewhere. In GTM, there is a way of setting up the path to the routines so that yours are used first and then those in a different directory if you do not have a routine that matches what is called, etc. However, that does not protect the globals from whatever havoc your routines reap. You can made a copy of your cache.dat and mumps.dat for a test server. In Cache, you need to dismount the cache.dat before you copy it and move it to a different namespace. With GT.M, you can copy a database file with the mupip backup command. Re: [Hardhats-members] sshd and mumps process hung
was going to reply with the below, but when I saw the initial question was that the system hung when entering a ? at a menu prompt, it sounds like there's a bigger issue here than just the SS option. I'm not really sure what process is hanging, but if it's the System Status menu option, what I'd do is: First I'd get to a programmer's prompt and execute each piece of the option's ENTRY ACTION, one at a time, to see if any of these by itself is causing a problem. GTMN DUZ,DT,DTIME GTMX:$D(^%ZOSF(SS))#2 ^(SS) GTMD HOME^%ZIS GTM Not hanging after that. If not, then I'd check via the menu system by: Create a temp routine with the ENTRY ACTION broken up so it's one command per line. Create a dummy menu option that has a temp routine as it's ROUTINE field. D ^XUP and enter the dummy option's name and then check which line is causing the system to hang. Do you mean to create a routine with the the ENTRY ACTION with line breaks? How do I do this? You mean with this code? Re: [Hardhats-members] Interesting story
I agree. On Friday 07 July 2006 13:34, Gregory Woodhouse wrote: Software Tools Detect Bugs by Inferring Programmer's Intentions University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (07/06/06) Kloeppel, James University of Illinois computer science professor Yuanyuan Zhou and her students have developed a suite of tools can that identify and correct software bugs by inferring the intentions of the programmer. The tools work by making observations of how the programmer writes code. Most bug-detection tools require reproduction of bugs during execution, Zhou said. The program is slowed down significantly and monitored by these tools, which watch for certain types of behavior. Most of our tools, however, work by only examining the source code for defects, requiring little effort from the programmers. Code in large programs is often copied and pasted, which, while saving a significant amount of time, is a frequent cause of bugs. Using data mining techniques, Zhou's CP-Miner searches through programs for copy- pasted code and scans for consistent modifications. CP-Miner, which can scan 3 million to 4 million lines of code in less than 30 minutes, has already found numerous bugs in some of the most popular open-source applications. Since large programs often rely on implicit rules and assumptions, Zhou and her students developed the PR-Miner tool to determine when those rules have been broken. Like CP-Miner, PR-Miner uses data-mining techniques and works very quickly. Zhou and her students have also developed tools to help software keep running even in the presence of bugs, such as the Rx recovery tool. Zhou says, Rx is avoidance therapy for software failure. If the software fails, Rx rolls the program back to a recent checkpoint, and re- executes the program in a modified environment. Another tool, Triage, identifies and diagnoses the nature of a failure at the end- user site and helps the programmer work to correct it. I have been accesing this server via ssh from putty, Linux consoles, OpenBSD consoles, KDE's konsole, and xterm and over the last couple of months (starting with HUI VistA 4) with VistA with no problems. I recall Nancy mentioning some problem such as this a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas? Is this a problem with sshd? Thank you. -- Nancy Anthracite Using Tomcat but need to do more?
