[hlds_linux] TF2: how to disable training weapons on a public server w/o plugin?
Hello, we would like to disable the training weapons Sticky Jumper and Rocket Jumper on our public server, it would be nice if it could be done by a legal config change or a cvar. Someone knows a way how to do it? I understand the reason for the training weapons, but these weapons annoying players on a non training server (FFA server). People are jumping around senselessly. It doesn't help for the game play. Re: [hlds_linux] TF2: how to disable training weapons on a public server w/o plugin?
In my eyes the Jumper weapons are no training weapons only. I use them to get fast from one point to another and I use my secondary or melee weapon to attack. But you could use plugins to get rid of unwanted weapons. Don't know any plugin URL atm, but I know that they exist. - Andreas -Original Message- From: hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com [mailto:hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com] On Behalf Of Ronny Schedel Sent: Saturday, June 30, 2012 9:55 AM To: hlds_linux@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: [hlds_linux] TF2: how to disable training weapons on a public server w/o plugin? Re: [hlds_linux] TF2 crash during shutdown
Follow-up to the issue below. I was doing some testing tonight and noticed that where previously it took awhile before a server would crash on 'quit', even a freshly started 100% vanilla (no mods) TF2 server now always reliably crashes on 'quit'. So, just to say the same thing twice and for clarity: Previously, a freshly started server would not crash on quit unless it had been up and running for a few hours. Now, even a freshly started TF2 server always crashes on 'quit'. I can't say when this changed. It might have been on the Pyromania update or it could have been before. I just happened to notice today. Note that my experience is limited to the unix binary on a single host. Jesse Molina wrote: I am guessing you are new at this. This has been normal for at least a year and a half, maybe two years. I don't recall when it first started happening but it was obvious when it did. For most people I know, this happens every time they exit the TF2 game client. But, it also happens to the server if and only if it has been active for awhile (let's say 3 hours of active use). My experience is that if you tell a freshly started server to quit, it won't crash, but one that has been up for a few hours will always crash. It is normal. Ignore it. So after the Pyro update Sourcemod was broken so I've disabled it, started the server and went to work thinking everything is fine. When I came back home I noticed everyone trying to connect to the server got Kicked by Console the whole damn day. I had to reinstall TF2 to fix this but now my server shows as Standing: Bad. Re: [hlds_linux] Steam Auth Disconnects
One of my servers is a 26 slot idle server and it's basically full 24/7, maybe dropping to a dozen or so around monday or tuesday, but always full up by around 6PM EST on Wednesday. I can confidently say the Steam auth ticket drops never stopped at all. All I need to do is look back on my Eluna graphs and I can see exactly where every mass disconnect is because it goes from 3.3-3.6Mbps to zero instantly. The frequency may have dropped, but I still get an average of two a week. I once did some testing with some build of server.so related to replay and i had to reboot the server multiple times to get the data. So players disconnected and connected multiple times. In a day, it turned back from bad to good. [hlds_linux] TF2, random segfaults on various scenarios
Hi all. I already asked my question in the Source DS Steam forums, but I guess asking here would be better. In short, I manage a Team Fortress 2 server for our gaming community. I always had some kind of trouble with it, running on crashes and segmentation faults, but for the last months they were over. Since the last update, I'm getting lots of segmentation faults again. They appear when randomly playing after only a few minutes of starting the server, or when changing map. They also appear on a fresh server install with no plugins and running with the default config, and with three different Linux distros (tried so far Debian (kernel 3.2.19, libc 2.13, which is the OS the server runs); Arch Linux (kernel 3.4.4, libc 2.15) and Gentoo (kernel 3.3.8, libc 2.14), all of them on their x86_64 variants) I find it to be srcds' fault since it happens with all three distros, and I would like to know if I'm the only one with these problems and if there's any fix or it's going to be fixed. I'm a little disappointed with Valve since I always had faults like these, which took a long time to fix, and now they appear again, and doesn't look like my servers' fault. Of course I could switch my server to Windows, but it's something I would not prefer to do. Any help would be appreciated. I can provide logs and crash dumps. Nothing wrong with that but there were 34 players with different Steamid - but same IP. So those were just blocking regular players from entering in. Naturally i banned the IP but connection limit from same IP could be usefull so this never happens again to me or to anyone else. These is the status output during that time. Also it looks like they were not fully connected and not even the 2 reserved slots i had, didn't kick em off. Re: [hlds_linux] Half-Life 1 dedicated server update released
Why do people insist on using CentOS to run hlds installs when it's got so many historical problems with it? If you force the server to run old binaries, no players would be able to connect. [hlds_linux] Half-Life 1 dedicated server update released
I can't update my HLDS server, it is always running version 5447. I've contacted my GSP and they said some Steam servers take more time to receive the updates than others. My server is located in Portugal, should I wait for the update to become available or am I doing something wrong? ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux

[hlds_linux] Custom content redownloads if going from a sv_pure 1 server to a sv_pure 0 server
Hey, Does anybody know a way to fix that bug where if you're on a sv_pure 1 server and you go to a sv_pure 0 server it redownloads all the content and show errors instead of models? I tried to change my server to be sv_pure 1 as well and changed the whitelist but it still redownloads everything. Thanks. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
