Re: [JAWS-Users] moving large amounts of files to another folder

2014-09-28 Thread Mike Boyd

If you have the first file that you want to move highlighted, and hold down
the control key, as you arrow down, each file that you come to will read as
unselected. Pressing the space bar while still holding down the control key
will select the next file that you want to copy or cut. If you lift your
finger off of the control key, you have lost what you have done thus far.
Alternatively, if you hold dow the control + the shift keys together while
focused on a file that you want to copy or cut, and press the Home key, you
will select from your point of focus to the top of the list. And, by
pressing the End key, you will select from the point of focus to the bottom
of the list. Both Bobby and Kinson are correct.

Denny,
Even, if you go 10 items down and press shift + home, it will select it from
where you are at to the top.
But, when you press control + C, it does not copy and paste.

Kimsan,
Your command of control + spacebar really unselects, when I was in one of my
music folder.
It did not select, Colon Powel Hahahaha!

Yes, if you are selecting one file at a time. But if you want to select
from the middle of a folder to the top, it's control shift home, not control
home. Control shift end from the current file to the end of the folder.

Hi Judy Tallie,
to select roughly half the files in a folder:
1. select a file roughly half way down the list of files.
2. press shift + home. This selects all the files from the originally
selected file to the first file. (alternatively use shift + end to select
all the files from he originally selected file to the last file.)

Denny,
Even, if you go 10 items down and press shift + home, it will select it from
where you are at to the top.

You Can hold down the CTRL key and as you down arrow press spacebar to
select files that way. So, if you have titles of songs 1, 3 and 5, doing
the above will select 1,3 and 5.

Hi Judy Tallie,
to select roughly half the files in a folder:
1. select a file roughly half way down the list of files.
2. press shift + home. This selects all the files from the originally
selected file to the first file. (alternatively use shift + end to select
all the files from he originally selected file to the last file.)

George,
I did that in my music list and it did not unselect.
When you start with 1 using the example I noted earlier with 1, 3 and 5,
since you are focused on 1, it is already selected, so continue holding the
control key and use your down arrow key and when wanting to select another
item, tap spacebar.

I normally just do CTRL shift home, to select from the current location to

Where is your cursor located when you perform the shift home command. I
placed mine after the period of a sentence, then did shift home and verified
the text selection and it worked.
When the cursor is placed on a blank spot, it did not work.

you can select the files, press control x to cut them (essentually moving
