Swedish translation of OpenOffice 4.x
Hello!
I have worked on the Swedish translation. There are now only 44 words
left. In some of these cases I am unsure what word to use because I am
not sure of in which context it is used. In a few cases it might be that
the original text in English has some error in it, because I do not
understand the meaning.
When expanding the details on the overview page, I find that there are
errosw with placeholders, escapes, printf() and XML tags.

I have installed OpenOffice 4.0.0 English version. Is it possible to
import the swedish translations into it to test them?
Below some specific questions in order to understand to continue the work.
Q1 Placeholders

What would be correct? I guess the text within square brackets should
not be translated.
Q2 Escapes
The column *$column$* could not be changed. Should the column instead
be deleted and the new format appended?

It seems like printf() reacts on a hyphen directly after a %% expression.
In Swedish we juxtapose many words together to form a long word (like in
German). We do not have spaces between words in many cases.
Will printf() fail with the hyphen just after the %% expression?

There are many control signs inserted in the Swedish translation. Should
they be there, or not? At many places there are this type of
construction of control signs. Are they serving a purpose, or should
they be corrected?
Is DisplayHID a 'product name' so it should be left untranslated, or
should 'display' be translated into Swedish?

I looked at the information on the address: http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/. And I found that there is a possibility to check mdtekst files using Dingus here: http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/dingus. Regarding to the translation of the mdtekst files it is very useful. But I think that the Title: and Notice: is used by the Web site CMS , while to identify which text how to process or otherwise. From what it used determines whether we translate or not. Because of this I asked, please explain to me. Encoded it with UTF-8. When you do this, all the thing would be fine in displaying your language. There is no character or sign (like # or + or * or other) before those strings so I imagine they will appearas is. For example, one file has: Title: Apache OpenOffice Calc In that case you should translate Apche OpenOffice Calc but don't translate Title. For Notice, that is the legal license and we leave that in English. Swedish translation
I noticed that Apache OpenOffice 4 still isn't available in Swedish, so I looked around a bit to see if I can help with translations or something. A quick look at https://translate.apache.org/projects/aoo40/ told me that everything is already translated to Swedish (svenska), so what's more to be done before Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 can be released in Swedish? Sorry if this is a stupid question… It isn't a stupid question at all, but the answer is equally simple: the 100% translation you see now was done by Kasper (in CC; but please Kasper consider subscribing, or you will miss messages!) over the last few days. So: Swedish is 100% complete now, but it was still rather incomplete when we built the RC1. And it will be released officially at the earliest possible occasion. When? Well, if we have to build a RC2 we could ask Juergen to consider adding Swedish immediately to it (but this could be asking too much of Juergen, since integrating a translation is still a lengthy process). In any case, Swedish would be released with the next language update, which is not set but may be sometime in October, depending on how many new languages we have ready.
